Are You a Member?

Are You a Member?
Free Memberships that Offer Nice Freebies or Discounts
This is a list of some places online that offer members only discounts, perks, freebies, etc.  If you are going to shop online, browse online, print coupons from online, or sign up for free samples online, these are a few places I have found to be handy and rewarding.

  • Go HERE to sign up to shop through Ebates.  If you are going to shop online anyway, might as well get cash back for free, right? How it works is you log in to Ebates. Then, you search for the store online you want to shop. Just click the link through Ebates and shop like normal. Then, you will get a "Big Fat Check" rebate mailed to you.  Also, you can find some good coupons and online discount codes on Ebates.  I just checked and the Disney Store online has a 5% cash rebate when you shop through Ebates right now.  The downside? Ebates can track your purchases to see what your shopping habits are. New members do get a "sign up bonus". Sometimes it is $5, sometimes $10, etc.
  • Have you signed up for Kraft's First Taste Program? How it works: Go HERE to sign up with Kraft First Taste. Then, check your email and the site from time to time. You will get chances to sign up for members only freebies and samples of new Kraft products.. from Jello to Philadelphia Cream Cheese Cooking Creme, etc..
  • I have really loved the perks from joining the P&G Brand Saver online.  Every month, you can sign in and check the samples and coupons you want to receive. Then, they mail you a members only package. It is really nice. I have scored many freebies at Target and drugstores using these coupons. The nice thing I have noticed is that often these coupons may not have the size exclusions the ones in the paper have.. and often they are also more valuable. Go HERE to register.
  • A similar members only freebies site to P&G is the Vocalpoint one. Go HERE to sign up for this.
  • Living Social is a site where you can purchase deals cheaply. You might get 50% off or more. The neat thing is that if you share the deal you purchase while it is still "live" and 3 of your friends purchase the deal through your link, you get yours FREE! Go HERE to sign up for various city "subscriptions" so you can get some great deal alerts. Recently, I purchased a $20 Amazon gift card for only $10. I used that to pay $4 for a huge box of PopTarts.
  • Similar to Living Social is Groupon. You don't get your Groupon deal free if 3 people buy from you, but I have still scored some really great deals going through Groupon.  Go HERE to check it out and sign up.
  • Want free shipping on Amazon.com on Prime Eligible items, no minimum purchase necessary? Go HERE to sign up for a FREE membership to Amazon Mom.  You also get steep discounts on baby necessities like diapers.  There is no hidden cost. When your membership expires, there is nothing to cancel, etc.
There are lots of reputable places online to sign up for savings and freebies. What are some of your faves?

Poptart Sale On Amazon This Month!

Looking for a Deal on Poptarts?
Check This No Coupon Needed Deal Out!
This month you can get 25% off on PopTarts on Amazon.com.  And, you don't need a coupon, just a code!

Here's What To Do:
  1. Sign up for Amazon Mom or Be a Prime Member. Amazon Mom is free and will give you a few months of discounts on baby stuff and free shipping on everything Prime Eligible.
  2. Go HERE to search for PopTarts and find your fave Prime Eligible/ Subscribe and Save Deal.
  3. Select the PopTarts you want that have the Prime Eligible/Subscribe and Save Features and Click to Subscribe for automatic shipments every 6 months.  You will get a % off for using this feature.
  4. When prompted/able enter the discount code POPTART2 for an extra % off.
  5. Finish checking out and enjoy steep savings and free shipping!
  6. AFTER you get your shipment, go cancel your automatic delivery subscription unless you want to keep getting PopTarts for whatever price they are selling them at the time.

This is pretty easy and straightforward.  HERE is a deal I like. Get 8 packs of 12 ct Chocolate Fudge PopTarts for $18.12, shipped, when you are a Prime/Mom Member, you Subscribe and Save, and you use the code above.  That is 96 PopTarts! Reg Amazon price is $43.40 for this pack.  In store, you would pay around $3.50 on average for each box. That would run about $28 or higher, depending on the store or weekly price.  This month, you save about $10 to order through Amazon. And they come to your door! :)

Recently, I used this code, found a good deal, and used the $20 gift cert I bought on Living Social for $10 on some Chocolate Chip PopTarts. I got a HUGE box of PopTarts, and after the cert and discounts, I paid $4!! ($14 if you want to go back and figure in the costs of the $20 cert!)  LOVE IT!! :)

Baby Wipes on the Cheap Through Amazon

How To Get Baby Wipes Cheap
WITHOUT Coupons
One reader recently asked me how to get great deals with minimal couponing effort. Another reader asked me about baby wipes deals. This deal from Amazon.com appeals to both!

Amazon.com has a great deal on wipes, currently.  Many are eligible to be 30% off AND have Free 2 day shipping!  To take advantage of this deal that can drop a 7 package, 504 count Pampers Thick Care Wipes Box down from $13.99 to $9.79 (or cheaper if you are able to use code: MOMWIPES at checkout), you have to be an Amazon Mom member AND sign up for automatic delivery.  (Don't fret, I am going to lay it out for you below.)

Usually, I say do NOT buy a box "deal".  Especially not in store. More often than not, if you use coupons, you are making a big and pricey mistake. Since 7 packs of wipes come in this box, you have just lost the ability to use 7 (or 14 if you can find store coupons to stack with) coupons on this purchase in store.  However, let's do the math for a moment.  These packs run about $2.39 in store. For 7 packs, that would run you   $16.73 without any coupons.  Let's say you are able to find 50 c off coupons. That, times 7 packs, is a savings of $3.50. So, $13.23 would be your final cost if you only had one low value coupon per pack.  So far, Amazon wins by a landslide, right?  SOMETIMES, you can find $1 off coupons for Pampers wipes. Let's run that scenario: $7 off $16.73 = $9.73.  Whoa. Wait. That is a whole 6 cents cheaper.  Do I still think you should consider the Amazon deal? Absolutely! Here's why:  You probably will not have $1 off coupons on hand, and not 7 of them.  Also, it is worth 6 cents to me to have a box of wipes delivered to my front door without having to take the kids into the store with me.

AND, there is a chance you will get the wipes even CHEAPER if the code MOMWIPES works for you.  (It worked for me last week, but not today. I had another promotion in my account, so that may have affected it. Also, it might be a one time deal.. or it could be expired)

Things to consider when buying name brand vs store brand: Price (Of Course), Quality, AND Pampers/Huggies have codes attached if you do their "rewards" programs. IF you don't, you can pass the codes along to a friend and inspire some goodwill points. :)

HERE IS HOW TO WORK THIS DEAL:
  1. Make Sure You Sign Up For Amazon Mom HERE.   This is a FREE program Amazon offers to moms.  You will get a few months of free shipping on everything Prime Eligible. Also, you will get discounts off of baby items.
  2. Go to Amazon.com and search Baby Wipes.  Look for the Prime Eligible ones. Click to view the ones you are interested in and look for the Special Offers box to appear. It will say something like "Save 30% with Subscribe and Save and Amazon Mom".  If you find wipes like that, you will go through the Subscribe and Save box on the right, not the cart, to order your wipes.  Or go HERE for the Pampers wipes I bought. (Don't get Sticker Shock, the discount will show up at the checkout process. You have to sign up for Amazon Mom and click the Subscribe and Save to get the discount taken off)
  3. Click Delivery Every 6 Months (on the right)
  4. Click Subscribe Now (you will get to review, etc before finalized)
  5. When you get to the checkout screen where you can enter a promo code, try MOMWIPES (it may or may not work)
  6. Finalize your order and wait for your delivery.
You CAN use promo codes and coupons with this deal. You may NOT want to get these wipes every six months. That's fine. Wait until AFTER you receive your wipes, then go to your Amazon.com account and cancel the subscription.

See, you can save without too much couponing effort or loading the kids up for a run to the store...

Let me know if this works for you or if you have any questions.
Basically, Subscribe for Amazon Mom, search baby wipes Prime Eligible, Subscribe for 6 Month Delivery, Try Code MOMWIPES, Check Out.

Uh oh! You Scored an Amazing Deal. Only, Now, it is Even Better....

So, You Scored a Great Deal.. Only Now it is CHEAPER!
What to Do??
It happens to the best of us from time to time: You hem and haw over a bargain. You decide it is a great deal. You buy the item.  4 days later, the item goes even cheaper! What do you do?

The other day, I noticed a deal on Couponing to Disney's Facebook wall. It mentioned that there were some really good and cheap deals on Amazon.com for Wii games.  I gave it a cursory browse.  We are on a super tight budget for "extras" at the moment.  And, we really didn't need another Wii game.  But, I saw the High School Musical 3 Just Dance game. It was on sale for $10.99! I already have Amazon Mom, so I would get Free 2 Day Shipping with my order. Done! I bought it. It looked like a lot of fun.  I knew my kids would enjoy it and it would save my sanity from listening to another Dora game or such.
We got it in the mail Friday. It is so much fun.

Today, I was browsing Amazon to see if there are deals I can share with you guys here.  AND, I see HSM3, Just Dance on SALE! For $8.83!  What??!! Oh NO!  The thing about Amazon.com is that prices change constantly. Usually, if you see a hot deal, snag it. Because it goes up in price without warning. This is the first time I have seen a great deal drop even lower.
So, I did what any self-respecting deal seeker would do: I contacted Amazon.com through their chat server.  I asked the chat rep what I could do about it.  I told them I really did NOT want to have to go through the hassle of ordering the cheaper, same game. Then, when it came in I would take it, still sealed, and  request a return from the FIRST more expensive order. I would mail the second game back in under the first invoice, for a full refund. That takes a little time and effort. But, $2 is a LOT of money to a couponer! They told me I did not have to go through all that and they would be happy to credit my account the $2.  They set it up so that I don't get "cash back", but I WILL get $2 off my next purchase, automatically. I can live with that.

The point here is to contact the company and nicely inquire what you can do.  Also, again, think creatively. IF they have a full refund return policy, you can always buy the cheaper one and return it under the first invoice if it is the same item.  AND, if you made a purchase in-store, take it back to the store and see about a price adjustment.
It never hurts to ask.  3 minutes on a chat this morning will save me an additional $2 off my next order.  It all adds up.

Printer Info... For Those That Need a Printer Now

Need a Printer Now? Can't Wait for a Sale?
This is How I Would Go About Getting One
  1. Go through Ebates HERE to get to Buy.com.  Buy.com is a very reputable company that sells many items, especially electronics, at steep discounts. By going through Ebates, you will get an additional 2.5-4% cash back on your purchase at Buy.com.   Looking around, I saw some really steep discounts, and just about all the printers qualified for Free Shipping.
  2. Amazon.com looks like it has some really great deals today. Go HERE to check one I found out!  It is an HP. It was originally $99, now it is $31.99.  IF you followed my deals a couple weeks ago and bought the Living Social deal for $10 for a $20 certificate to Amazon.com, this would be a steal. You would use the cert and just pay another $11.99!  Now, you need to spec out the features you want. This is an ink jet printer. I use a Toner printer for all my couponing. But, you can search out the printer that works for your specific requirements.  Browse around Amazon. If it says it is eligible for Free Super Saver Shipping, you can use your Amazon Mom 3 months FREE SHIPPING membership on it.  Go HERE for more info about the Amazon Mom no-risk membership!
  3. I AM LOVING THIS PRINTER OPTION FROM OFFICE MAX! Go HERE to check out 40% off savings on this all in one Epson scanner/printer with WiFi. Nice! I am not an electronics expert, so be sure to check out all the specifications for yourself. This printer appears to have Free Shipping on it too. Also, if they have this deal in store, sometimes, either in the ad, or in mailers, you can get $$ off purchases of $50, $75, or $100.  If you can get one of those, and if this deal is in the store, you can save some major money.  Again, it is an ink printer. Ink can get pricey. However, I combined some Office Max Perks rewards and coupons and got my mom 2 packs of ink for less than $4 in store recently.
No matter where you go through, see if there are any coupons. See if they have a customer rewards program and sign up to get credit on your purchase of the printer.  See if they participate at Ebates.com so you can get some cash back on your purchase.
Also, try looking up your local Craigslist. You never know what you can find there!

Anyone have an idea for a good steal on a printer? Anyone have a printer they can recommend?
**As I see any good deals or ads, I will update you guys on printer sales
