Hammermill Paper Deal from Amazon.com UPDATE:
This is my Chat with Amazon.com about the cancellation of my paper order. Everyone's order is or will be cancelled. I also submitted a report (using the link below) so that Amazon can investigate to see if this was a matter of a "bait and switch" scenerio. Sorry the deal was "too good to be true!".
Tolasi NathaMoorthy:I've checked your order and found that you purchased this item from Shoplet, one of our registered third-party sellers on Amazon Merchants.
Tolasi NathaMoorthy:Amazon Merchant listings are created by sellers other than Amazon.com. When you buy an item at Amazon Merchant, the individual seller processes and ship your order.
Tolasi NathaMoorthy:I see that the seller has canceled this order as this item Item was out of stock.
Me:Wow. That is really terribly frustrating.
Me:I see they are still selling the same exact thing, but for $40+ now
Me:so, they must have some in stock
Me:That is not the quality I have come to expect when I shop with Amazon.com. It almost seems like a bait and switch tactic here. I hope Amazon.com will look into this vendor, bc they are not doing good things for your reputation. I have seen all over the blogs that just about everyone had their orders cancelled
Tolasi NathaMoorthy:I see that the seller had wrongly listed the price for his item and this is the reason why the order was canceled
Me:Wow. That is just not fair to the consumers that bought it. Looks more and more like a bait and switch to me.
Tolasi NathaMoorthy:I'd like to ask you to send a report to our investigations team about this. They deal with possible violations of our seller policies. Each report they receive is investigated and the appropriate action is taken. However, we won't be able to release the outcome of the investigation. Please go to the URL below and select "Report a violation of our rules" as the subject line
Me:Ok. I will definitely do that. Thanks for figuring it out for me.
That's part of the problem with Amazon's "marketplace." A LOT of major sites (Buy.com, etc...) use a "marketplace" system. Meaning, there's third party merchandise on there. Which means that Amazon may not be responsible for something like this happening. Caveat Emptor.
ReplyDeleteLesson learned, for sure. However, I am sure Amazon.com would want to know if one of their vendors is leaving a bad impression of Amazon.com. The more they know, maybe the more they can prevent this type of thing from happening in the future. For now, I will just keep an eye on the Office Supply stores' circulars and look for a straight forward coupon deal!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it interesting that first he said it was out of stock...?
